Scratch Disks?

I keep getting an error that says my scratch disks are full, and i cant use photoshop, how do i fix this and what dose it mean?

MacBook Pro 16” Mockups 🔥

– in 4 materials (clay versions included)

– 12 scenes

– 48 MacBook Pro 16″ mockups

– 6000 x 4500 px

Photoshop needs to use disk space to store temporary files, the disk(s) used for this is called the scratch disk.

If you only have one hard drive then that is the scratch disk and the error you are getting means that disk is full so PS cannot write any temporary files.

The only solution is to clean up your hard drive, or install a new one and use it as your scratch disk (you can set this in preferences).

yeah i figured that out….the ting is i have a 10GB HDD and short of remove PS tself, i cant clear up much space, how much do i need? a little? alot?

ok, crisis averted, i had 42megs on my HDD…..

Space for PS varies, depending on lots of factors, but best to free up a GB or two.

Win9x, look in windows/temp, see if lots of things are stuck there from crashes and whatnot…

Or with any OS, do search on whole HD for .tmp files…

Oh, forgot, to make it easy, try Disk Cleanup under System Tools.

That is a trivial amount of space for Photoshop. The crisis will return unless you get a much bigger disk.
