Hello,

I’ve been trying to combine two photos that looks exackly the same (they were both shot in the same room, from the same angle). the only difference is that different people are in the room.

I’m looking for a way to combine those images and hopfully come out with one image that shows the room populated by the people from both photos.

the only way I could think of (other from cutting the image) is to change the opacity, but then I get semi transparent looking people.

any ideas?

Thanks!
adam

If the pictures are truly identical except for the people, just select the people from one layer, invert the selection and hit delete. If you want a less destructive method, use a layer mask on the top layer to hide everything but the people.

Thanks for the reply,

I thought about doing that – but since this needs to be done for a large number of images (a movie clip turned into a TIF sequence, actually), I was hoping to find a quicker way.
Isn’t there a way to ‘subtract’ the two layers, leaving only the non identical parts? a pluging perhaps?

thanks!

Play with the blend modes and see what you get.
