Bevel/Emboss issue

When I add Bevel & Emboss to my text it looks fine – until I flatten the image and the effect near as dammit disappears.

I’m obviously doing something wrong! can anyone elighten me?

By the way, I use CS

are you viewing at 100%? any other zoom level is inaccurate.

Dave meant ‘Actual Pixels’, which is mostly not 100%

Actual pixels setting IS 100% size, always.
That’s why it says "100%" in the blue info bar on top 🙂
