Action play icon greyed out.

I’m new to actions and this is driving me crazy. Sometimes an action will play and sometimes the play icon is greyed out. I haven’t been able to figure out what I’m doing right when it works and wrong when it doesn’t. Can you help me out?

You might have the action folder selected. This is a way to categorize your actions, but you have to have a specific action selected to be able to play.

I do have a specific action chosen. The little triangle arrow to the left of the arrow is pointing down and the parts of the action are showing with their little arrows pointing down.

If you have an action selected, then the play icon WILL be highlighted and working.

Here’s a screen shot of what I have open right now. It shows the Yervant B&W action selected, doesn’t it? Maybe this will show you what I’m doing wrong.

If the html doesn’t work, I guess you can copy and paste. I didn’t see an option to preview the message

Actually, that’s the folder the action resides in that you have selected not the action.

Select the area where it says "Yerwant color to B&W".

Aha! Thanks to both of you. Maybe my brain just isn’t oriented properly for PS. It’s just not obvious to me. I really appreciate this. Good idea on the screen shot, eh?
