PhotoShop Stalls On Load

About 2-3 times a week PhotoShop (version 7) stalls when I start it up. A rectangular box pops up saying something about text file 1 of 2 being downloaded and no personal data being transferred. Supposedly some sort of update, etc. Well it just sits there and downloads nothing until I click the cancel button on that box. There is an EMPTY text file that matches the file name stated in the box that gets created on my HD but thats all that happens. Any ideas whats going on and why?

Because it can’t run PS and update it at the same time. A program update needs an unloaded PS.

You should cancel auto update. It’s a PITA. Just check the web site once a month. It’s easier, quicker and safer.

Hopefully you have a firewall to stop incoming and outgoing on your computer. If not download the free version of Zone Alarm and refuse to allow the connection of the bullshit.
