Marc, I believe, is bemoaning the demise of the free MrSID plug-in. There is a standalone viewer available from Lizard Tech, but this does not help the Photoshop user.

The stand alone viewer will save the full image out as a tif. This can also be batched as well for multiple files, not with the viewer but another executable availible – not sure of the details though, could prob find out from someone here though.

Not sure if this will help but there are 2 utilities on the LizardTech website (http://www.lizardtech.com) that can “Save MrSID image as limited-resolution TIFF, JPEG or BMP file”. One is a stand-alone application (MrSID Decode) and the other is a browser plugin (MrSID ExpressView Browser Plugin). These may work well. If you need higher resolution you might consider printing to Acrobat using the ‘MrSID ExpressView Browser Plugin’ and then opening the resulting Acrobat file in Photoshop. The ‘MrSID ExpressView Browser Plugin’ features list states that it can “Print high quality versions of MrSID images to desktop printers” … this would include Acrobat.

And in my poor French: Je ne suis pas sûre si ca vous aidera mais LizardTech propose deux ‘plugins’ sur leur site Web (http://www.lizardtech.com) qui sont capables de re-sauver les images de format MrSID en formats TIFF , JPEG ou BMP. Une c’est à installer dans Internet Explorer ou Netscape (MrSID ExpressView Browser Plugin) et l’autre est un utile pour Windows (DOS? – ‘Command line utility’). Si vous avez besoin d’un résultat haut résolution je propose d’utiliser leur ‘MrSID ExpressView Browser Plugin’ pour l’imprimer l’image en format Acrobat. Le fichier Acrobat ‘d’haute résolution’ peut être facilement ouvert avec Photoshop. Mais cet solution vous oblige d’acheter Acrobat si vous ne l’avez pas déjà.

je teste IRFAN qui récupère parfaitement le fichier et me permet de l’enregistrer en jpeg que je récupère avec photoshop. A l’écran cela donne un meilleur résultat que la solution du plug-in dans photoshop. A suivre

It seems Irfanview worked well enough for Marc that he found it better than whatever experience he has had with the Photoshop plug-in in the past.
