I have a simple action I created for creating dropshadows on photos. Part of the action calls for increasing the size of the cavnas and setting the anchor to the upper left corner. Currently, this requires user interaction, which I would like to remove. Is there a way to bypass the canvas size dialog, and avoid the action setting the size of all images processed to the same size, or do I HAVE to have the interaction with the dialog?

Thanks

I can’t check it right now, but my first thought is to check the dialog in the action steps. Is it toggled to ON? If it is, toggle it OFF and the action should run without user intervention.

Edit: I just checked – yes, toggle the dialog to OFF.

I’d like to increase the size of the canvas by 6 pixels in both height and width, but by taking out the dialog box, the size is changed to what I last set the canvas size to be.

Hmmm…. when *I* do it in v7, it works fine. The action records the number of pixels that I’m increasing the canvas by. I don’t remember if 5.5 had this or not, but in v7, there’s a checkbox for relative in the canvas size dialog. So my action is recording an increase of X pixels.

If v5.5 doesn’t have that checkbox, then you are recording absolute values, I believe.
