This is the way I always done it Make a selection and then convert to work path via the path palette flyout menu, I save the same flyout, then designate the path as a clipping path in the same flyout, leave flatness blank, but now when I save it as a eps all I get is the out line of the object how do I save it from Photoshop to Illustrator

Thanks

Hector, it would help to know which versions of PS and AI you’re running, but if you’ve upgraded to the CS versions, you should, (instead of converting your selection to a path), use your selection to either delete the background, (to transparent), or to isolate the selected subject on its own layer, and save as PSD. Place your PSD in Illustrator (and/or InDesign CS), and forget clipping paths forever.

Hector,

Illustrator 9, 10 and CS will respect transparency in PSD files
