Merging psd files

I have a design that is contained in two different psd files (top part of design in first psd, bottom half in the second psd).

Is there a way to merge the two psd files into a single psd file while keeping all the layers in tack? I don’t want to flatten the image in any way.

This should work if you open them both
and drag the one into the other
after which you merge.
Have you tried it?

Yes, select all the layers in the layer palette, and drag them onto the other image to the other image. Save both of your images first to a safe place.

Hold the shift key down while you do this to center the layers. There are also a number of layer alignment commands to line things up after the fact, and you can use the move tool for any final adjustments. —

Thank you, I didn’t realize that you can move layers like this between psd files…this worked fine.
