I am having problems getting the "print with preview" function of Photoshop CS to accept ‘banner shaped’ paper sizes from the Epson 2200/2100 printer driver — I get a dialogue "Could not complete your request due to a program error". More conventional paper sizes and shapes are fine, as were these panoramic shapes until a day or two ago.

I have no idea what has happened, but it has also happened to Photoshop 7, and also Elements 1.

Reopening the "Print with Preview" doesn’t work. When it shuts down only re-starting the program allows another try.

My computer is running Win XP, has 1 Gig of memory, and 120 Gigs of Hard disc space.

Please help if you can. Many thanks.

Try trashing Epson and PS preferences

Thanks for responding, Barry.

I have scrapped and replaced the Photoshop preferences file by means of Ctrl+Alt+Shift. No improvement, unfortunately.

However, I am unsure of how to delete the Epson preferences file. In any case, I had earlier tried a re-install of the Epson driver — similarly without any noticable change for the better.

I wonder if Windows Update has made some subtle change to the Operating System which has, possibly, brought the two pieces of software into conflict?

This is a real problem for me at present.

A few other people I know have had trouble printing long images to a 2200 on Macintosh lately. Yet it works on older drivers and on Windows.

It seems to be a problem with the Epson printer driver on OS X. Check with Epson, they posted a new driver not long ago, but I haven’t tried it yet.
