I just did an upgrade from PS 7.0 to CS. I am confused I thought when you upgrade something you over write the old for the new. Now I have two Photoshops on my system. What do I do with PS 7 do I need to keep both programs on my PC or can I eliminate 7.0 or just keep both on my system?

Thanks 😀

You can dump V7 if you wish but my advice is keep it on till you get up to speed with CS. No! Psv7 doesn’t get overwritten. There may be stuff on it you may want. Keep it for a while longer.

CS is so cool it is hard to keep my hands off of it. I have been using Photoshop for years now. I started out with 5 that friend gave me and I bought 7 last year. I thought 7 would be very hard to top. Boy did I guess wrong. Anyway I will do what you say an wait for a while before I get rid of 7. Now I got to find some cool tutorials for CS.

Thank So Much For Your Help

No, you don’t need to keep both v7 and CS, and yes, you may remove v7, but when asked by the uninstaller whether to delete shared files, reply ‘No’.

But I would definitely keep the PS 7 CD, in case a CS reinstall is required in the future.
