You want to copy the file called Adobe Photoshop CS Prefs.psp

This is a good idea anyway, since quirks are often solved by "dumping the prefs." This can be done when launching Photoshop and pressing ALT+CTRL+SHFT. This will restore the Prefs to their default settings and will often "cure" problems. On the downside is you have to go in and reset all your prefs to how you want them to be. But if you copy the Prefs to another location and have a problem that may be solved by dumping the prefs, you now have the better alternative of copying the uncorrupted copy and pasting it back into the CS Settings folder.

Oops! I misread your initial post! Not sure about the other files, but glad you solved this! All my files under File Browser have weird names that I can’t associate or dissociate with Photoshop…names like AAAAAAAA2.

well thats the thing, i think they can be deleted, and just keep the ones with associates with photoshop……..
i think those files keep all your thumnails they way the are, i work a lot with raw files, and when i make adjustments in a raw file the thumnail keeps all those adjustments,
there is no clear information about this problem,
to may backups i mean

In File Browser: choose File-> Export Cache, and the settings will be saved in the opened folder
