I just want to draw a simple box……

I KNOw I’ve done this before, but I just can’t remember how. I just want to click and drag to create a box, as you would with the marquee tool or cropping tool. But I want the result to be that the box stays there and prints on the page. It seems so basic, but for the life of me, I can’t figure out how to do it. When I use the rectangle tool, it seems like sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. thanks a lot.

Very basics:

with marquee tools, draw it, then Edit/Stroke. Controls line thickness and color of line.

With vector shape tools use the Path option uptop to get outline, Fill Pixels to get solid.
