I have photoshop 7 on my old computer

I have now bought a new computer to replace the old one and I want to install PS 7 on it.

Problem.

The serial number as recorded in the system information of PS on the old computer is 20 digits long and when I go to use that in the setup on the new computer it wont recognise it. "Not a valid serial number".

The setup appears to need a 24 digit number

What am I missing?

You’re missing the last four digits of the serial number. The number displayed on the "About Photoshop" screen (and the splash screen) leaves off the last four digits. Presumably this is to make it more difficult for someone to steal your serial number. The complete number is on a sticker on your original CD case, and also had a peel-off that you could place in another (safe) place.

Yep Tom’s correct.
I had the same prob when I reinstalled – and I’d lost the case/serial – but I phoned the Adobe helpdesk and they gave me the last 4 digits

The first thing I do now when I buy new software is write the serial on the disc.
