Hey All

Is there anyway that you can make a gold color in Photoshop? I need it for some friends that are getting married and they want it for their menucards so that the name of the person is written in a gold color.

Thanks

There are many gold styles available (some good, some not so) on the Adobe Exchange.

Gold, like all metals, is a texture as well as a systematically varying color. You can get an excellent effect using Photoshop’s built-in features. Check out the Photoshop WOW book for a number of stunning metallic effects.

Several brushed antique gold techniquest are described by Janee at: http://www.myjanee.com/tuts/antgold/antgold.htm , and jeweled gold at http://www.myjanee.com/tuts/jewel/jewel.htm

and there are plugins that do the job:

Try the demo version of Super Blade Pro.

Looks all flashy on screen, but printing menucards is something different. To obtain a good effect you will need a specialized printing method. Has not much to do with "colors in Photoshop", you can just give the printer the name in black and tell him to print in gold.

…. as long as the printer’s name isn’t "inkjet-of-sorts"!

Uhhhhhhhhh right:))
I was talking professional printing, an inkjet will not give you Gold. And again: it is specialized printing. There is no regular "gold" that even comes close, not in the CMYK and not in the Pantone range. If you try that you will always end up with a Coated kind of yellow.
