After a period of time I ran Adobe Gamma to recalibrate my monitor; the video card duly substituted the new monitor profile for the old one, but the old profile is still listed in Edit > Color Settings > Working Spaces > RGB > Monitor RGB in both PS v7.0.1 and CS. What went wrong?

Tomaz,

Did you change the text in the Description box? That’s where Photoshop gets it’s description from.

Len, indeed, I left the file name in the description box unchanged, and only saved the profile under another name. I read Adobe Gamma instructions the first time I used it, but after that foolishly believed I was smart enough. Thanks for reminding me.
