I recently acquired an old copy of PS7 and I used to use PSP mostly.

I have two questions, is there anything in PS7 like Paint Shop Pro’s picture tube function?

The second question is about a transparent PSD file. I tried to copy the image to paste it into my main design
but the copy part was not selectable and Ctrl-C didn’t work either. any thoughts as to why I could not
copy the image?

Thanks for any help/tips.

….There’s been a couple of plugins that are supposed to provide something akin to tubes, but I honestly wasn’t impressed with them when compared to PSP. Then again, the only time I use PSP for any reason is if I need a background that’s created with a particular image tube, and then I import the image in CS2. My ten-year-old copy of Painter – no, I don’t have the can anymore, alas! – also did tubes just as good. Why Adobe hasn’t admitted defeat and added something like tubes to Photoshop escapes me, but then again look how long it took them to add any sort of scripting while..what was it? Photo Publisher? That had full mouse support scripting in 1994!

Although they do differ, you can be very creative with brushes. Searching for ‘free Photoshop brushes’ on your search machine will open new worlds to you. You can duplicate anything you can do with tubes by using brushes.

Which layer were you working on?

Thanks for any help/tips.

I never used PSP but I think "tubes" are similar to brush options

you paint with objects? or patterns? PS has this but you have to set up the options
also any shape in B&W can be saved as a brush tip
custom shapes may also help you- choose the tool that looks like a line and flyout for more choices

when you copy a picture in PS it will only copy the layer you have active

if you need a copy of all the layers >>>choose copy merged

it is possible you copied an empty layer?
