Cannot install version 5.0 on my new computer

I have a new computer and the drive will not recognize the Photoshop version 5.0 CD which I have successfully used on my old computer. I have Windows XP and I am using a Dell computer.

Is the CD scratched? Dirty? Does the drive work with other CDs?

Yeah, it works with my old computer. And the drive works with other cds except sometimes it doesn’t recognize blank cds.

I think you have answered your own question – the CD drive is dodgey.

You could try making a copy of the PS 5 CD on the old machine and install from the copy. But this is a Band-Aid.
