I’ve just bought Adobe’s ‘Photoshop CS3 Classroom in a Book’ but the Quicktime Movie Tutorials on the accompanying CD don’t seem to play properly – just purple and green stripes! Any idea what might be the problem?
I have Quicktime installed on my computer.

OS? QT version?

If Windows, then you could try installing the codecs available at http://www.zeropaid.com/thecodecs/

N.b. some "codec" packages have malware. Do some research (well, google) to make sure any you install/have installed previously are OK.

I have Win XP Home and latest version of Apple Quicktime Player. Are the files encrypted?

I doubt it.

If you are using more than one monitor, try playing them on the primary monitor – some video cards don’t work as well on a secondary monitor.

The problem you describe seems like a codec problem. Have you tried installing more codecs?

Thanks for your help. I installed the codec pack from k-lite and they now play in media player!
