Anyone going to the Seminar Tour in Seattle on July 28th? I think it’s a Monday.

This is the same one I just went to in Ft. Lauderdale–
Great session— the BEST session on using curves I have ever seen in a seminar
like this—-and I’ve seen more than a few. Good info on retouching and color
management, too! And, one of my favorite things about Ben Willmore (aside from the fact that he knows his stuff and, more importantly, can teach it)
is that the merchandising is very low key. I think he said *once* that he had a book and stuff at the NAPP kiosk in the lobby, but the session wasn’t one gigantic commercial for books and tapes and such…. it was refreshing after some others I’ve attended.

Some logistical stuff:

If you’re going in a group and want to sit together, go early– our session was almost completely sold out and latecomers were scrambling for open seats.

And an FYI– timing is very tight– he covers a carload of stuff in one day…
and the pace, except for the one afternoon segment, is pretty brisk. You’ll only have an hour break at lunch, and Ben restarts exactly on time— don’t plan on having time to leave the facility to have lunch elsewhere— Don’t know about Seattle, but in Ft. Lauderdale it was not realistic. Lots of folks in our session tried, then came back in late, and it was distracting.

(In some other cities, this may not be an issue, but in Ft. Lauderdale the convention center shares a parking facility with the port, so there are ID
checks, et al, if you leave. And part of the problem was that the convention center really screwed up– there were 400 people in our group alone, and only one sandwich and drinks kiosk open–with 2 attendants and *one* microwave-
and one cash register (no vending) –and only an hour break?–nightmare logistics–after
standing 20 minutes in a line that wasn’t moving at all, I gave up. .)
