Since I upgraded to CS I am having trouble running batch actions. Once I create my action and save it then try to run the action on a folder I either get the save as dialoge between every filr or it runs the action and dosnt save it. I have tried it with and with out a save command in the action. Any help appreciated.

What is the setting of the batch window in regards of "override action save steps"?

tip: Look at <http://www.atncentral.com/installing.htm> to learn everything about actions

It pops the save dialoge box up with the "override action save steps " box checked or unchecked.

Be sure the ‘modal’ checkbox (the one to the immediate left of the Save As command that controls whether a dialog is displayed) is blank and the option Pierre noted is "on."

Note: The only reason to have a Save As command in an action invoked by batch is for the purpose of changing file format. If source images are in, say, .jpg and you are not changing file format, it’s extremely unlikely a Save command is needed in the action. If you delete (or turn off) the Save command in the action, turn off the option Pierre noted, too.

Very odd. I’m sure you’re close.

If you like, send the .atn file to me via e-mail (click my name in blue above for email addy). I’ll be glad to take a look. It’s probably something obscure.
