Hopefully this is straightforward…

I have an image with a bright orange date imprint. The area under the imprint is an oriental rug but unfortunately is not patterned in such a way that a simple rubber stamp would work.

What other options are available to "erase" this imprint, if possible?

Many thanks.

You could clone it out or crop the photo if it’s in a corner where there is nothing of major importance to the photo. Cloning could be tough if the rug has a lot of detail. The next step, if it’s your camera putting that on the photos is to turn it off. Date stamps have ruined many of otherwise nice shots in my opinion.

James…Please turn off your "Auto-Quote" feature in your newsreader client. If you’d like to quote a message in your reply, please do so manually.

And as to the original question…I’m willing to bet that cropping off that edge with the date stamp wouldn’t remove any critical parts of the photo.
