Opening PS from PS file

Recently I am unable to open PS files by dbl clicking on them. PS launches fine but the files don’t open. FileInfo says PS is the correct app to open the file.

Once PS is open I can open any PS compatible file from the File menu.

Ring any bells? Thanks.

shift/alt/cntrl John, in order to reset the preferences.

Is this a Mac OS X problem? The situation is discussed in the FAQs at the Adobe Forums site.
