I have a Windows XP SP1 and subsequent updates, 1 Gb RAM, Wildcat 6110 with newest driver (two weeks ago).
Last few days, but well after updating video driver and successful use of Photoshop, I get a critical error whenever I try to use fill (bucket) on an entire new blank layer of a small file.

The error is:
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
Program: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS\Photoshop.exe

R6025
– pure virtual function call

All other programs work fine.
Any ideas? Right now I can get around it by painting in the area but it is a kludge and unsatisfactory in the long run.

TIA,
Bobg

Dual processor machine? Disable MP Support until we can get a fix released.

I have a dual processor machine and am getting this same error. I have installed the latest "multiprocessor update," however this has not fixed the problem.

How do I diable MP support within Photoshop CS? I have gone all through the preferences and have been unable to find this option… Thanks again

Robert – a pure virtual function call usually means that the binary or one of the DLLs is corrupt. It could also mean just a corrupt preferences file (see the FAQ).

But do make sure you’ve installed the new MP Support plugin first (because it fixes a known problem with the paintbucket).

I’m having the same problem, but my computer doesn’t have Multiple Processors. It is a brand new Dell and I only experience this "Pure Virtual Function Call" error after running an action (not all the time, but once every few hours)

Will the MP plugin help this?

I’m going to reset my preference settings and see what happens.

Thanks for the help.
