I am using photoshop 6.0 and Win XP. I am new at this and would sincerely appreciate help. I need to know how to use the fonts located in C:\WINDOWS\Fonts and eventually add different ones. Photoshop help says it uses all fonts installed on the system but I am not able to choose or type in "Century Gothic MS" for example. I know the adobe fonts are located in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Fonts but then there are subfolders. I tried copying the fonts from C:\WINDOWS\Fonts into each subfolder of C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Fonts and restarted photoshop with no luck. Put simply how do you add fonts so they can be selected and used in photoshop? Please help me with any advice. Thank you.

I need to know how to use the fonts located in C:\WINDOWS\Fonts and eventually add different ones.

you need to "load" them with the font applet in the control panel. File> Load New Fonts.

note that due to a bug in some font creation software, they might not appear in alphabetical order within PS. it goes by some internal name embedded in the font. scroll down the list and see if you see the one you want.
