er sorry i cant work out what you are trying to say, perhaps its something to do with global lighting?

Indeed. Turn off "Global Light" in the Drop Shadow dialog. Rob

I think m’Lord is on the right track. In the Drop Shadow dialog, deselect ‘Use Global Light.’

The Global Light setting will affect all your layer styles except in cases where you’ve deselected it.
