And, reading down it, I think I’m in Photoshop heaven.

I don’t know if I’d call my self a newbie, but I’m not advanced.

I think it’s like they say about the brain, you only use 1/10th of it. Though, not knowing what 100% of it is, I don’t know how this can be defined.

I think I might know what 1/4th of Photoshop does, and can do it.

I’d been using PaintShopPro before, so know the basics (like tools) and mainly have been taking a picture (usually one of my digital photos) and seeing what the filters and tools in PS will do.

Occasionally (as I have free time) looking for tutorials.

When I learned (about) batch scanning I was psyched.

I can only imagine what other magic there is to do.

I use version 6, which I feel is better with my older computer and Win 98 SE.

When I spend hours in Photoshop, I end up thinking I LOVE THIS!

I think you’re right.

I’m 61 years old and a great grandmother, and I finally know what I am!

I’m a geek! I’m hooked.

I also love working on computers and get people to give me their discarded ones to play with.

Have fun 🙂

Hi Carrie.

You had better start taking and printing lots of photographs, in addition to communicating with the world here.

Otherwise, you sound as if you might turn from a Geek (like the rest of us) into an Anorak.

I was only jesting.

Sorry I forgot about the International nature of this NG. An Anorak is indeed a warm heavy hooded jacket, but in the UK, has come to mean those poor souls who only have one subject of conversation, and one interest in life, whether it be Train Spotting, Computers or the very latest in Mobile Phones. There I go again – "Mobile" in UK, "Cell" in N. America.

Photographers are very unlikely to be Anoraks, because our hobby covers such a wide range, and generally consists of an interest in the Photographed Subject, as well as in the Photography, and the Computers that we use. But there are Anoraks who can talk for hours about the latest New Camera Model, or Photoshop Plug-ins, or whatever, but never ever seem to actually get out there and take pictures.

Now where did I put that Neg Folder with my latest Photos? I am sure I saw it around here, in 2003.

<g> You’re only as old as the person you feel 😉

Grow old disgracefully and enjoy yourself 🙂
