The default load is into "program files" folder, which is in the same directory as "windows".

The default is into Program Files/Adobe/etc, which is fine, and I’ve never seen a warning re this.
The above is NOT a subfolder of Windows.
Did you change the default location during setup?

Got a new PC, need to install Photoshop 7. When it gets to the part that says, "We do not recommend that you install Photoshop in the same directory as "Windows" there could be conflicts."

OK then where do I put it then???

The default load is into "program files" folder, which is in the same directory as "windows".

So do I need to install Photoshop to its own partitioned drive?

I am sorry eye so stupid…….

Thanks in advance THJ

Thayne,

Are you sure that the warning you are seeing isn’t about the Scratch file and the Windows Paging file being on the same drive?

If so, that warning is advisory only. For better performance the Windows Paging File and the Photoshop Primary Scratch should be on different drives. You can set the location of the Photoshop Scratch from
Edit>Preferences>Plugins and Scratch Disk
