Just getting started using Photoshop. (7.x)
I’ve read the OLH for drawing a cylinder but it’s not working for me. I’ve drawn an ellipse on its own layer.
I then choose Filter > Render > 3D Transform
I dialog box comes up and I have no idea what to do with it. OLH is pretty vague. Sorry for the basic question – I’ve wasted an hour and a half trying to figure this out. thanks in advance.

3D transform is to TRANSFORM items in 3 dimensions , compared to the usual Rotate/move in 2 dimensions.

It works by requiring e.g. a 3D object in a photo, image a football. You then use the SPHERE in the filter to overlay it to match the image. Then WHEN you rotate the SPHERE, the image ROTATES, left to right, i.e. around its axis.

Same for the cubeand also the cylinder. e.g. Cube for a box. tube/Cylinder for a glass.

But when you rotate the object the BACK of the object that is exposed does not contain pixels, i.e. blank area., of course that would be impossible!

Im my opinion this filter is very basic at what it attempts to do, it could be enhanced a LOT more!.

I realize now that this feature is not very robust – I was hoping it would create a 3d image.
