I understand that Adobe’s RAW/JPEG2000 plugin is only for CS. What third-party plugins do you recommend for JPEG2000 for PS 7?

Also, I can’t seem to open JFIF files directly. I have to use the JPG setting in Open As. Any help would be appreciated.

JPEG files are JFIF files…. But you shouldn’t see JFIF as an extension.

Have you searched on Google? I got this with just "free jpeg 2000"… not so difficult to find… 😉

"JFIF" is a guess, since the digital camera didn’t give the files an extension. I opened one in Notepad and the first line said "JFIF" and "LEAD Technologies."

I’m wondering if JPEG2000 is a waste of time for me, until IE6 and other browsers support the format. I use TIFFs and EPSs for all my print work.

It’s a JPEG file — add the .jpg extension.
