I have a jpeg which I want to cut up into bits to use as nice graphics (bars, buttons etc) on my site. I don’t understand why the selection tool only lets me have a rounded rectangle selection, the square one is grayed out, not enabled. Also, when I select and delete, it doesn’t delete everything but leaves some semi-transparent stuff behind, AND rubs out a pixel width OUTSIDE the selection.

What’s going on?

Dave

You probably have a feather value set to the selection. Set it to zero under Select.
