Please give me a link to a useful tutorial, for trimming information on a layer.

I am familiar with the eraser tool etc etc, but why can’t I draw a spline, and trim off that – or am I thinking vector here???

Cheers
Steve

Have you tried the crop tool? You can draw out the area you want to keep and then crop that bad boy (if I understand what you’re trying to do). It sounds like you come from a CAD background, so maybe you’re trying to achieve something else.

use one of the marquee tools (lasso, circle, rectangle, poly, etc) make a selection then use edit> crop. OR after the selection hit Select> Invert (aka crtl-shift-i) and hit Delete.

btw, the crop tool will crop the entire canvas, not just the data on a layer.
