eBay Caveats

I am in the market for Photoshop V7 and see that eBay is awash with many apparent bargains. I read the descriptions and get the feeling I am being sold a bill of goods, that I do not understand.

I read the Adobe Licensing agreement and it apparently allows for transfer of licenses, but license transfer is rarely mentioned in any of the eBay adds. There seem to be a lot of previously "registered" (no mention of activation, but I assume that is a given) products that are said to be eligible for upgrades. I’ve seen CS upgrades packaged with previous versions – again, already registered – that appear to allow one to load up the old version and then upgrade to CS.

Can anyone sort this out for me?

Will upgrades work with older versions previously registered by someone else?

What should I avoid (nobody is advertising pirated sw, but there must be some tip offs in their language/descriptions?

Thanks, in advance for your help,
CW

Upgrades are not legal with older versions registered to someone else. It’s only legal if they transfer the license to you.

No, much of what you find on EBay is pirated.

If it sounds too good to be true – it probably is.
