I received an e-mail offer today that claimed I could buy an OEM version of Adobe Photoshop 7.0 for $44.95, OEM version only, no books, manuals, or packaging. I have bought OEM versions before, notably Norton Anti-Virus for about half the price as sold in a retail outlet, i.e. Best Buy or Office Depot, so I’m OK with making a deal like this.

But Adobe Photoshop 7.0 for $44.95? Is this too good to be true? A quick scan of prices shows it’s out there for between $470.00 and $599.00. Seems to me an OEM version at $45 plus a decent how-to book would be under $100.00. Is there anyone that reads this ng that has Photoshop and bought it OEM?

As long as I have your attention,

Does anyone have an OEM source for Dreamweaver web site design software? —

Be realistic. If it seems too good, it IS too good.

There is no OEM version of PhotoShop. What you were offered was a pirated copy.

Get over it. These people are crooks.

1) Just because you read it on the Internet, does not make it true. I can put up a web page declaring myself dictator of the world. But it won’t be true.

2) If a deal seems too good to be true, it is.

Just check with Adobe. They know about those crooks. I checked with adobe by phone. Also I checked with "who is" where you find out who is the owner of the site….No valid phone numbers and it was created (when I check on it) about two weeks before I checked.
A friend bought it and YOU CANNOT REGISTER IT because Adobe does not make OEM software, like the ones you get with your new machine such as WinXP or W98 that only goes with the machine that you bought.
I always check with the software manufacturer as to the validity of such offers. Saves a lot of time, effort and grief. Oh, just incase any one did bite, they will return your money FAST!
Yours,
Tom
