Hello,
I have been trying to deploy an icon in the system tray area (lower right corner). Due to their tiny size, those little buggers are tricky, and it seems that successful designers try to make them as square as possible.
Ages ago, when the Mac came out, I recall that a single icon file (or resource) contained a bunch of icon images, one for each size. How does that work for Windows? Should I add a set of them as separate files to the MS Visual Studio IDE?
I have the default icon used by MFC applications (it has the letters "M", "F" and "C" on some cubes). According to Visual Studio, its dimensions are 32×32. However, if I open the file with IrfanView, it says that the dimensions are 48×48. I have been trying to replace that default with a custom designed icon.
Meanwhile, my icon can hardly be seen without a magnifying glass.
Any pointers are much appreciated.
TIA,
-Ramon
