I noticed that in my lighting effects filter when I go to use the different presets in the drop down box, there is no settings there! I don’t know where the presets are supposed to be, and I don’t recall moving anything from my Photoshop directory. Can someone please tell me where they would normally be found and how I can get them back? I noticed they are missing
in both Photoshop 7 and Photoshop CS.

I checked on the Photoshop installation CD and could not find any lighting effects folder
with presets. I’d appreciate any help.

I’ve had the same problem in the past, the solution isn’t obvious. You have to use Widows Explorer to find the folder that contains the Lighting Styles such as Program Files/Adobe/Photoshop CS/Plug-Ins/Filters/Lighting Styles. Right click on the filters folder, Properties/Advanced then check the box for "For fast searching, allow Indexing Service to index this folder". Then when you open Photoshop the Styles appear in the drop down box as if by magic. You have to repeat this for any other versions of Photoshop or Elements that you may have.

Let us know how you get on.

Thank you so much…it works!!!

Is this a bug in the filter? I wonder if Adobe is aware of this. I am sure there must be others who have run into this problem and would never guess THAT was the solution…of all things! LOL

Again, thanks for your help…I really appreciate it 🙂
