How do I create an action to save a folder full of nef (raw) images to psds using CS?

I would like to use a function key to do this, if possible.

Thanks,

Dennis

It could be possible using a script. Open an image, begin recording the script, save your image. Then, export the script. I think you can use the script file on a folder. Or, at least… You open all the image (but you need a huge memore for it), and you only launch the script ; if your script include "close the file", you’ll only need launching the script sometimes. It’s fastest that saving the image, one after the other.

My idea is to do an easy script like this. But I don’t speak english, so I don’t understand the meaning of "function key".

When I open the nef raw image, I can’t use any action features until I click OK on the raw image.

I don’t have to do a whole folder, just the images I have highlighted.

Thanks,

Dennis

You might want to try Dr Brown’s Image Processor script

Ken,

I went to NAPP and that is what they suggested. Looks like a good fit for me.

Thanks,

Dennis

Create an action that simply saves the image. This merery serves to select PSD (or JPG if you prefer and the compression setting). Well, I’m not certain about this, it may just use whatever file typee you saved to last. Then back in the File Browser highlight all the images you want to batch, right-click & select batch & choose your action from the drop list.

Here’s the settings you need:

All,

The best solution for me from the suggestions was the Dr Brown’s Image Processor script
http://www.russellbrown.com/tips_tech.html

It is written for CS and will convert into a number of formats, jpg, tif, psd. It will also resize the images.

Thanks for the leads,

Dennis

Is that able to handle resizing mixed portrait and landscape?

I haven’t tried that, but the script comes with a nice tutorial.
