Coming from a CAD background I really miss not having snaps – the ability to locate a point based upon endpoints, midpoints, intersections, centers etc.
Does this kind of functionality exist in Illustrator or is it that I just have to take off the "CAD" hat and put on the "ART" hat? In other words, am I getting too caught up in accuracy?
Also, apart from the question above – generally speaking, when should a person use Photoshop and when should they use Illustrator. I understand that Photoshop is raster and Illustrator is vector and that vector-based means that the data can be scaled with no loss of quality. But that advantage alone would mean that the only time you use vector is when you don’t know the final output size, but there must be more reasons than that.
Thanks.
