Program Error on Opening PSD–But Previews/Places Fine

Made simple copy and paste from one PSD to another. Saved the receiving PSD file. Now this newly updated PSD gives "Cannot open due to program error." File previews in the OPEN dialog, places fine in Illustrator and InDesign.

Any way to restore/repair this file?

In Photoshop 7.01 on WindowsNT.

try opening it in image ready then resaving it. other than that generally you’re toast with that error, but if you can get it into other apps, maybe image ready can handle it.

Hey–it opened in Image Ready, did a Save As, and got it back into Photoshop!

p.s. make sure you have 7.01. 7.0 did wierd things like that.
