I am Using Photoshop 7 with a PC using Win XP
I am moving a series of images to a folder in which I want to make all the moved images "Snap to Guides"
When I check the operation VIEW>>>SNAP TO>>> Guides everything works fine, but only for that folder.
When I open a new folder, I’ve got to create the command anew How can I keep Snap to Guides activated as the default command until I uncheck it?

I tried to recreate the behavior you described using PS6 under XP, and things worked correctly – the snap to option stayed put between runs of Photoshop, and closing and creating new images. I did not try switching between folders. Either your procedure is slightly different, or this is a difference between PS 6 and 7.

Two ideas: try resetting your prefs (ctrl-alt-shift at startup), or create an action that sets the "snap to grid" option, and assign it to a function key – and tap the function key before doing an action that requires snap to grid.

OK! I found the answer.
When I go to VIEW, I have to first check SNAP and then click on SNAP TO and check Guides. Then it stays put.
