Upgrade CS3 to CS4

I’ve been trying to do this for the past month. The "Checking system profile" bar moves up to 90% then stops. Task Manager has to kill it. I’ve been in correspondence with Adobe all this time, and they have had no helpful ideas. Has anybody else run into this?

XP Pro SP3 fully patched. Absolutely no problems installing/running CS3

Thank you. I’m interested but not surprised; especially when some of the CS4 fixes were in fact CS3 documents, not very well edited!
