Don’t remember what I did to cause it? Any ideas?

This is something wrong with the printer, i should remove printer from the printer list in control panel. Now it works fine.
But, how to print now?
🙁

were you trying to open a document across a network and resave?

If you are using Windows the printer should reinstall itself on restart if it is plugged in

printer on, or off, does not affect my CS3 starting
maybe time for the 3 finger salute to reset preferences
fixes myriad of issues with PS all versions

That’s probably it. Photoshop is a bit quirky when it comes to network printers – the connection is initialized when you open your first image. Add your network printer back, but do not set it as the default printer, and Photoshop should behave better.
