Hi all. I have just recently discovered the Measure Tool. Myquestion is: (drum roll please) Is there a way to have multiple measurements on the screen simultaneously? If you have one measurement line drawn, and begin to draw another, you lose th first. I noticed in the information area, below the "File Edit Image, etc…" bar, that there is a "D1" and "D2". The current measurement is displayed as "D1" while "D2" remains blank. Thanks for looking.

P.S. Does anyone have a copy of that PDF that has all the Photoshop 7 keyboard shortcuts? I cant remember where I got it originally, and I wanted to go over it again to make sure I was working as efficiently as possible.

Donnie,

There’s probably no need to have multiple measurements on the one image. The D1 measurement is the across and the D2 is for down. Why would you want more than one measure on your image?

A wee tip. Say you have a photo with a tilted edge say a building, drag the measure tool along a straight edge from top to bottom and go to Image>Rotate Image>Arbitrary and it will automatically calculate the degree of tilt. Brilliant!

That shortcuts PDF is right there, on your installation disk.

Pop it in and do a search for "PDF." You’ll only get a few returns on the search, so it won’t be hard to find.

Cool, I found the PDF. Thank you. As far as why I would want to have two measurements on one image, I’m actually asking for a friend.I’m not sure why he wants to, but I am trying to get him to check out the forums, and I know if he sees how helpful everyone always is here, and that it is a good place to get/share advice and tips, he will check them out.
