=all tool cursors appear as cross with hole in middle=

Am using P7 Clone Stamp Tool (S) which usually appears over photo as a marching ant circle & Crop Tool (C) which usually appears as two overlapping bent rulers(?) but ocassionally both appear as small cross with hole in middle — why? Closing & reopening P7, pressing S or C key doesn’t get me back to normal tool cursors. Advice appreciated.

Turn off CAPS LOCK (which, as explained in your manual) sets the cursor to accurate mode.
