Hey everyone,

I have a question about Photoshop. I’m attempting to paste a drawing (simple line drawing, small) from Illustrator to Photoshop, and place the image. It has been working fine, I do that, and it pastes fine. But now, for some reason, whenever you first paste it into Photoshop it looks nice and fine, but when you hit place, it finishes placing, and lightens the final image from black, to this mid grey line tone. I can’t think of a thing I’ve done differently all the sudden; and I closed and reopened Photoshop, but no luck? Any thoughts?

Have you used the same color settings in both Photoshop and Illustrator? Is your monitor calibrated, are you bringing a RGB illy file into an CMYK photoshop document?

Could be any one of these

Nathan,

Firstly make sure both applications are using the same Colour Management Settings. From Photoshop’s Edit>Colour Settings d/box SAVE your colour settings to a colour settings file (.CSF).

Next, from Illustrator’s Edit>Colour Settings d/box, LOAD the .CSF file you just saved.

Additionally, if you are pasting an Illustrator RGB file/object into a Photoshop CMYK document you would expect to see colour shifts.
