Hello all,

I’m new here and I hope you’ll be able to help me with this little problem 😉

I have a picture (a car in fact) , png format, and I need to rotate this picture for 1 degree 360 times and save the picture at each rotation. (car_001.png to car_360.png)

I have tried to do this with a script but it was unsuccessfull. Manually, it would take hours… 🙁 (I have to do this on several cars)

I didn’t find the solution searching google either.

A clue?

TIA 😉

You can do this in Illustrator, using the Effect > Distort & Transform > Transform, Rotate menu. Once it’s done you must use Object > Expand Appearance, to place each rotation to it’s own layer.

You can do a similar thing in Photoshop. Make an action and tie it to a Function key: Car on bottom layer but NOT a Background. Ctrl-J to transport to new layer. Go back to original layer (Use Shift-Alt-[ to go to bottom layer) Rotate one degree with Transform, transport to own layer(Ctrl-J). Shift-Ctrl-T to rotate again by the same increment, transport to own layer, etc 360 times. You’ll have a file with 360 layers if you can handle that.

You can hit the function key over and over or record the action repeating 360 times, OR if you are more clever than me you can probably figure out a script to run the action 360 times and stop. I’m sure that can be done.

Then use the Layers to Files script (included in CS) to make individual files.

Are you trying to produce an effect? It sounds to me that you are wanting to create an animation…so have you thought of doing this in Macromedia Flash, each rotated image would be on a new frame?
