I have a OEM version of Photoshop 6 for Windows. But there is neither the Photoshop SDK nor the FilterFatory plugin available on any of the CDs.

Is there a place to legaly download at least the FilterFactory plugin?

Thanks in advantage.

Please don’t start a discussion about the usefullness of the "GIF89a Export plugin".

Well, sorry, but YOU just started it when you said that 🙂

As far as i can tell, it’s the only fast and reliable way in Photoshop to define a color of an indexed-colored image as transparent.

Save For Web, Color Table, pull the colors you want transparent into transparency icon (or click color and click tranparency icon). You can change your mind and make them non transparent after the fact also. Other options also.

Just for my curiousity, what was your OEM version 6 bundled with?

Testy: Filter factory should be on your disk under ‘Goodies’. You have to install it separately. Hope you’re up on math functions.

No, i’ve asked if there’s still a place to legally download the plugins.

As i’ve said, a FAST and RELIABLE way. Just pick a color in an image and go, not first pick a color and than drop it somewere else, and than change it to some other color. With the GIF89 plugin one could do this in one easy step.

Just for my curiousity, what was your OEM version 6 bundled with? With a PC, of cause.

"There is no directory labled "Goodies."

Then you have a pirated, bootleg copy of Photoshop.

Period.

FULL STOP.

That’s why I asked? So testy, where’d you get the bootleg ya bottom-feeder?

That’s why I asked also.
I don’t know of any computer maker that included Photoshop6 in its "OEM" software.
Willing to be proven wrong, though.

It doesn’t look like a bootleg. It loks totally legit to me. Maybe it was normally sold with expensive scanners or other imaging hardware?

It’s a two CD set labeled "Adobe Photoshop 6" and with the sentence "for bundles only, not to be sold seperately" in 5 languages (English, German, French, Spanish, Italian) written on the CDs; plus al the legal notes, of cause.

On the front of the cd case is a sticker with the serial number, on the back a sticker with a bar code an lot code, label pn, another pn and the code"PHSP,6.0,MLP,OEMBD,MUL,1PK,CD,GB/F/D".

One CD contains the english, german, and spanish Windows version plus the english and german Macintosh version of PS 6. The other CD the french and italian Windows version plus the french, italian and spanish Macintosh version of PS 6.

I it’s necessary to prove, i will try to put a scan of both CDs somewhere on the net. It seems this message board doesn’t allow attachements.

But my question still isn’t answered. Can i still legally download the FilterFactory plugin and the GIF89a plugin somewhere?

My PS6 is only on one cd and it came with the GIF89a plugin on that cd in the goodies folder.

I don’t know if it’s legal for someone with a version of PS to provide you with a copy of the plugin. It *should* have come with your version if it were a legal version.

no, this message board frowns on images being displayed within the forum because there are some who must pay for bandwith by the minute and downloading images isn’t what they necessarily wish to do. You can, however, put an <http://> link to an image that you have uploaded to your web space.

No, it is NOT legal for anyone to give you a bundled copy of any software…

I got Painter Classic when I purchased my Wacom tablet. Although I own Painter 7 and 8, I cannot give away the free Painter Classic CD, even though I will never, ever use it…such is the life of software licensing.
