Below is the link to a picture I found on a site.

How is it done? I have tried messing with the median, but there is something else that gives it that look. Any suggestions?

Also, where to go to find tutorials on effects of this nature, making people look different, etc. If there are such tutorials just on manipulating the way people appear in digital pics.

Thanks!

Wesley

Maybe try Soft Focus. Copy the layer, blur it, and blend it with the original. Then mask/erase the layer at places the SF shouldn’t be.

Or are you referring to the fact that the lightsource for the faces doesn’t match that of the sand?

Sorry to say, but I am not familiar with how to use, find or adjust "Soft Focus." Would anyone mind sending me in the right direction?

The effect I am trying to duplicate is the rubbery, fake cyborg like texture of the two guys in the pic. The way that their face’s look slightly animated and glow like rubber or shiny playdough. As well as how their shirts look like an animation.

I haven’t tried it, but I’m thinking maybe try the plastic wrap filter, on a separate layer with the opacity turned down. It could emphasize the shine you are looking for. This would be in addition to the soft focus layer.

Back in the seventies there was an LP-sleeve from Kraftwerk’s "Trans Europe Express" that had this sort of heads on it.
