Totally pissed off with this No Name moron so I’ve added him to my Block Senders list. Don’t reply to his posts and he’ll go away.

There’s only one problem with that – I blocked him a month ago and still keep seeing the threads from people who either reply to him to insult (perfectly understandable, but pointless) and those who are on his side and stoking the fires (few, but there’s always some idiots around to support other idiots). All that will happen will be that you see the same long, tedious threads, just without his posts. Whilst it can be fun to read the insults it’s ultimately unsatisfying when what you really want to do is be in the same room with him with a sharp object. 😉

A lot of news readers have the option to filter on content. "No Name" works pretty well here – gets rid of at least 80% of replies.

Same here, I wish my news reader had a way to block messages crossposted with specific groups.
In the case of the Wavy G moron crowd you’d just have to zap anything sent to their drugs.pot group.
Maybe somebody knows how to configure Thunderbird to do that?

Not sure about the sharp object… I’d say something long, very rough and 6" in diameter…

No idea. I haven’t worked out how to do it in Agent either.

Hmmm – with lots of splinters 😉

Aha, so you are an expert after all!

In mozilla, I view the first post and hit the ‘K’ key to ignore that thread. It’s fairly painless.
