Are you saying I’m not good at photoshop?
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My precious feelings are hurt. After all I thought I was the best in the world at photoshop until you told me.
If you are serious about pursuing a career in this kind of work, then you need to get a lot more practice. First of all, your layout, despite the fact that it’s tacky, tasteless, and generally repulsive, is totally off-balance.
Perhaps you would get less teasing, and more constructive input if you made a genuine effort to create art, and spent less time trying to offend people simply because you’re bored.
Actually that was about as tactful as you can get without getting scatological.
To post this kind of junk and ask for comments with an aside asking for no negativity is an extreme way for the disturbed to make a plaintive plea for attention.. Its far less about art or talent than it is about juvenile exhibitionism.
Exactly. And as a professional graphics designer and artist, people like "No Name", or whoever the hell he really is, irritate me simply because they are not genuinely interested in learning anything. They simply wish to stir things up, and attempt to get volleys of insults flying back and forth between posts, purely for their own twisted enjoyment.
…Or maybe he’s just a beginner, and hasn’t quite mastered his craft yet, and therefore you should give him time to do so.
Okay, which scenario seems more genuine. This one?
You wish to be a graphics professional. You embark to complete your first project or one of your first projects in Photoshop. So, you decide to seek out various pictures of your interest, ranging from semi-nude/nude photos, to fractal graphics. You spend some time going through some tutorials, and carefully place them together, at which point, you decide to post a link to the picture, and you say:
"Hey folks! Here’s some art I’ve been working on. What do you think? Go easy on me… I’m just a beginner. ;-)"
Ore this one?
You wish to be a graphics professional. You embark to complete your first project or one of your first projects in Photoshop. So, you decide to seek out a picture of a person urinating, a picture of another person holding an alchoholic beverage, and a vandalized bathroom. You do some very quick and sloppy edits, slap them together, and then post a message basically saying:
"Here’s my art. Say only nice things about it."
I do not wish to offend you, sir, but if you truly think the latter is a geniune inquiry for critique, then in my opinion, you are a very naive person. I understand that art is highly subjective, but I also understand that there are many who try to use the term "art" to hide alterior motives.
BTW, this little back and forth we’re doing here… is entertaining the original poster a great deal. Threads like this are the point of his posts, not critiques.
